Carbon Reduction Policy

Carbon Reduction and Net Zero Commitment

Railway Support Services Ltd is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

As part of this commitment, we have prepared a Carbon Reduction Plan in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance for Carbon Reduction Plans. Our baseline year is 2024–2025, during which our total reported emissions were 37.5 tCO₂e, comprising:

· Scope 1 emissions: 33.4 tCO₂e

· Scope 2 emissions: 2.2 tCO₂e

· Scope 3 emissions: 1.9 tCO₂e

Our main emissions source is diesel used within our vehicle fleet for the delivery of rail recovery services. Our carbon reduction measures include maintaining vehicles in accordance with manufacturer schedules to support fuel-efficient operation, considering fuel economy when selecting replacement vehicles, and replacing diesel vehicles and oil-fired heating with lower-carbon alternatives when suitable technology and investment cycles allow.

We will continue to monitor, review and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions over time, supported by our environmental management arrangements and operational controls.

Our Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the Managing Director.
